Het NL-bestuur verheugt zich om haar leden uit te kunnen nodigen voor een lezing die gehouden wordt door John Watkinson van Celtic Audio Ltd. over bovengenoemd onderwerp en daarbij geassisteerd zal worden door de zangeres-gitariste Liza Marschall. Dit belooft een bijzondere avond te worden die u niet mag missen!
Synopsis
This presentation explains and demonstrates advances in loudspeaker technology that have recently been made. It will be shown that without a full understanding of the human hearing system a loudspeaker cannot be specified and so the designer does not know what to do. Traditional loudspeakers, which all sound different despite having the same specification illustrate that specifications are lacking.
John Watkinson will explain that loudspeakers need to be accurate in space, time and frequency domains, whereas it is usually only the last domain that receives any attention. Solutions that meet the new criteria will be explained.
To illustrate that the new technology is scaleable, a large number of demonstrations will be given, including powerful stereo and surround speakers as well as portable, rack mounting and 12V DC powered units. A live performance by singer/acoustic guitarist Liza Marshall will demonstrate the validity of these ideas in high quality sound reinforcement.
